However, I learned the importance of remembering my medicine once I started getting migraines. If I forgot to take the medicine that prevents them, I would suffer greatly. Somehow pain helps a girl get her priorities straight. This is what I learned.
Put Your Medicine in a Place You Can See It
I needed to put my medicine where I could see it. It took a while for me to find the right spot to keep my pills, but I finally did: in the cupboard by the water bottles. It's genius because I get water every morning, so that's when I take my medicine. My husband keeps his in the bathroom by the sink, so he can take his pills before he brushes his teeth at night. My daughter keeps hers in her purse, so if she has to hurry out of the house in the morning (which is often the case,) she will have them with her.
Remember That Its Purpose is to Keep You Healthy
Once I realized how helpful my medicine was, It was easier to take it. I'm happy to say I'm pain free now, and I'm even remembering to take my vitamins like a good girl should. I'm feeling healthy, happy, and ready to take on the day. Go on, ask me. Ask me if I took my medicine. You just might get a smile this time.
